About this organization
Mission
KIND CAMPAIGN IS AN INTERNATIONAL ANTI-BULLYING SCHOOL ASSEMBLY PROGRAM, DOCUMENTARY AND VIRAL COMMUNITY THAT OFFERS EDUCATION, SUPPORT AND HEALING TO CHILDREN, TEENS AND ADULTS BY PROVIDING ONLINE AND IN-SCHOOL RESOURCES.
About
KIND CAMPAIGN CO-FOUNDERS TRAVEL ACROSS NORTH AMERICA DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, FREE OF CHARGE, SPEAKING TO STUDENTS DURING SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES ABOUT THEIR ANTI-BULLYING PROGRAM. EACH FOUNDERS' ASSEMBLY IS A TWO HOUR PRESENTATION TO GROUPS OF STUDENTS (RANGING IN SIZE FROM 100-2000 STUDENTS). THE ASSEMBLY CONSISTS OF PERSONAL TESTIMONIES, A SCREENING OF THE DOCUMENTARY FILM AND AN INTERACTIVE DISCUSSION WITH ACTIVITIES. ACTIVITIES PERFORMED DURING THE ASSEMBLY INCLUDE THE KIND PLEDGE, THE KIND APOLOGY AND THE KIND CARD. THE KIND PLEDGE GIVES EACH STUDENT AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLEDGE AN ACTION STEP TO HELP BRING AN END TO BULLYING. A GROUP OF STUDENTS ARE CALLED ON TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEIR PEERS AND SHARE THEIR KIND PLEDGE. THE KIND APOLOGY ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO WRITE AN APOLOGY TO SOMEONE IN THEIR LIFE. THESE APOLOGIES ARE OFTEN DIRECTED TOWARDS OTHER STUDENTS SITTING IN THE SAME ROOM. STUDENTS ARE INSTRUCTED TO HAND THEIR APOLOGY TO THE PERSON THEY HAVE WRITTEN IT TO. THE APOLOGY CREATES IMMENSE HEALING AND MENDS CONFLICT AMONGST STUDENTS. THE APOLOGY CARD HAS CHANGED AND SAVED LIVES. DURING THE LAST ACTIVITY, THE STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO WRITE SOMETHING KIND ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE. A GROUP OF STUDENTS ARE CALLED ON TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEIR PEERS AND SHARE THEIR KIND CARD. AFTER THE EVENT THE FOUNDERS WILL TALK WITH STUDENTS WHO NEED GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT (REFERRING GIRLS WHO NEED ADDITIONAL SUPPORT TO KIND CAMPAIGN'S ON-CALL LICENSED THERAPIST FREE OF CHARGE). THE SCHOOL WILL KEEP A KIND WALL WHERE PLEDGES AND CARDS ARE HUNG TO REMIND STUDENTS OF WHAT TOOK PLACE. THE KIND CAMPAIGN FOUNDERS HAVE SPOKEN IN 509 SCHOOLS ACROSS NORTH AMERICA SINCE SEPTEMBER, 2009. DURING 2018 38,492 STUDENTS WERE IMPACTED BY A KIND CAMPAIGN ASSEMBLY ADDING TO THE TOTAL OF 446,003 STUDENTS ATTENDING KIND CAMPAIGN ASSEMBLIES SINCE SEPTEMBER, 2009. KIND CAMPAIGN HAS MADE A SPECIAL OUTREACH TO TITLE 1 SCHOOLS (A FEDERAL DESIGNATION USED TO INDICATE SCHOOLS WITH HIGH NUMBERS OF CHILDREN FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES). KIND CAMPAIGN ALSO PROVIDES AN ASSEMBLY PROGRAM FREE OF CHARGE (2,411 SEPARATE SCREENINGS SINCE SEPTEMBER, 2009) WHERE SCHOOLS CAN HOST THEIR OWN ASSEMBLIES WITHOUT THE FOUNDERS BEING PRESENT. THESE ASSEMBLIES ARE FACILITATED BY FACULTY MEMBER, LOCAL COMMUNITY MEMBERS, PARENTS OR KIND AMBASSADOR VOLUNTEERS. KIND CAMPAIGN PROVIDES THE SCHOOLS WITH THE DOCUMENTARY ALONG WITH A DETAILED ASSEMBLY GUIDE WHICH INCLUDES DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS, A SCRIPT FOR THE ASSEMBLY PRESENTER, INTERACTIVE ACTIVITY TEMPLATES, DISCUSSION QUESTIONS AND TALKING POINTS AND MORE. ONCE A WEEK, THE FOUNDERS HAVE A CONFERENCE CALL WITH ALL OF THE SCHOOLS TO ENSURE THE STUDENTS HAVE A SUCCESSFUL AND INSPIRING EXPERIENCE.
