Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

Communities in Schools of Spokane County provided basic needs to more than 10,000 students in four high schools, four middle schools, and four elementary schools in Airway Heights, Cheney, Medical Lake, Spokane and Spokane Valley. Basic needs include food, clothing, and school supplies. Site coordinators identify children who are the most at-risk of academic failure, set an academic goal with each child to develop a plan to keep the identified child from failing. The site coordinators broker internal and external services throughout the year, checks and documents each child's progress, and advocates for the child and their family. Mentors are provided to more than 480 children during the year at 38 public schools.
