ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEWSINCE 1983, FAMILY HOUSE HAS PROVIDED AN AFFORDABLE AND COMFORTABLE "HOME AWAY FROM HOME" TO MORE THAN 225,000 INDIVIDUALS TRAVELING TO PITTSBURGH FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT. FAMILY HOUSE OFFERS MORE THAN JUST COMFORTABLE, SAFE AND AFFORDABLE LODGING. IT IS DESIGNED TO CREATE A SUPPORTIVE "HOME" WHERE PATIENTS AND FAMILIES NATURALLY INTERACT AND FORM FRIENDSHIPS OVER MEALS AND SHARED ACTIVITIES. TOGETHER WITH A CARING GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF, GUESTS FROM ALL BACKGROUNDS, CULTURES AND RELIGIONS BECOME A "FAMILY" -- UNITED BY CIRCUMSTANCE. IN FY 2019, FAMILY HOUSE SERVED 24,000 PEOPLE FROM 48 STATES AND 23 COUNTRIES. PROGRAMS-FAMILY ASSISTANCE - RECOGNIZING THAT SUDDEN AND TRAUMATIC MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS CAN DEVASTATE A FAMILY'S FINANCIAL RESOURCES, THE FAMILY ASSISTANCE FUND WAS CREATED TO LOWER THE COST TO STAY AT FAMILY HOUSE BASED ON FINANCIAL NEED. ROOM RATES CAN DROP TO AS LOW AS $27 PER NIGHT.-HEALTHY BREAKFAST PROGRAM - FOUR DAYS A WEEK, FAMILY HOUSE PROVIDES A COMPLIMENTARY HEALTHY, GRAB AND GO BREAKFAST FOR OUR GUESTS.-FOOD PANTRY - OUR FOOD PANTRIES CAN BE USED WHEN GUESTS ARRIVE LATE AT NIGHT AND THE STORES AND RESTAURANTS ARE CLOSED, GUESTS DON'T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MORNING TO EAT.
