About

The following parcels were acquired by purchase, received as a donation, or sold to further the preservation of natural areas for the benefit of the public. Expenses include costs associated with the servicing of the assets, but not the asset cost. The following parcels were purchased: 1. Dubose Property/Spy Rock Road This property is a critical inholding within the national forest. We purchased this property to protect it, then sell it to the US Forest Service for inclusion in the national forest. 2. Cedar Rock/Cross Creek Timber This property will eventually connect into Jones Gap State Park when we transfer our lands to SCPRT. 3. Gospel Fellowship Paris Mountain This property is key to maintaining the forested viewshed atop Paris Mountain. Eventually, we will transfer this property to SCPRT. 4. Grassy Knob Tract B This property will continue to be protected by NT and will become part of the DNR WMA program. The following parcel was received as a donation: 1. Grassy Knob Tract A - From SCDOT This property was part of a mitigation effort by DOT. We will continue to own and manage the property. The following parcel was sold: 1. Grubbs/North Saluda A partial 10-acre piece of the larger property was sold. The 10-acre piece helped to raise funding to purchase the larger forested parcel.
