The Golden Door Charter School was founded on the simple convictions that a first-rate education is the right of every individual, that all children can learn, and that every child should be challenged to reach his or her full potential. The overall goals of the school are to: (1) Demonstrate the benefits of academic achievement that public school students can routinely attain when the advantages of charter school governance are coupled with ambitious new academic standards; (2) Increase the availability of choice to parents and students when selecting a learning environment; and (3) Encourage the use of different and innovative learning methods. The focus of education at Golden Door Charter School has always been what is best for the success of the children. With this in mind, the school provides a full range of services appropriate to meeting the needs of all students in Preschol (PK) through Grade Eight (8). Such instructional services include regular education, special education, and a basic skills program, including "as-needed" services such as Speech, ESL, OT/PT, Social Work and School Pathology.
