About

At Bit-By-Bit, our vision is to help people with special needs reach their full potential by providing healing programs with the help of the horse! This year was an amazing year of growth and development at Bit-By-Bit. Our accomplishments in 2018 include: 1) Began utilizing our brand new medical treatment building, thanks to a generous gift from The Chive Charity. This new space enables us to serve more clients. In 2018, we provided nearly 6,000 individual therapy sessions. 2) For the second year we were the beneficiaries of the "Meggan Morency Wild West Night". This event raised over $150,000 which among other things enabled us to provide therapy twice a month to disabled veterans and start a grief counseling session called "The Eagles Equine Group" utilizing the horse as part of the healing process for children directly impacted by the horrific Parkland shooting 3) Further developed our volunteer program by providing 24 new volunteer orientations and various advanced workshops and trainings as well as hiring a new volunteer coordinator to help things run smoothly 4) Provided an extensive cross training program for all of our equine partners as well as continuing education for our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists. 5) Increased our staff by training and hiring additional therapists, including mental health counselor for the Eagles Equine Group, and trained one of the therapists to become an equine specialist which again helped us to provide services to more clients 6) Provided dozens of allied health internships for students from many colleges and universities, both in and out of space
