EDUCATION: HOLA'S ACADEMIC PIPELINE PROVIDED INTENSIVE, EXCEPTIONAL ACADEMIC SUPPORT, INSTRUCTION AND OPPORTUNITIES TO 462 ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND COLLEGE-GOING ALUMNI. DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, 79 SMART START ELEMENTARY EDUCATION PROGRAM STUDENTS RECEIVED TARGETED ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATED IN 37 ACADEMIC CLASSES THAT COMPLIMENTED THEIR IN-SCHOOL MATERIAL AND SUPPORTED AREAS OF GREATEST NEED. WITH THIS SUPPORT, 79% OF ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WERE PERFORMING AT OR ABOVE GRADE LEVEL IN READING, WRITING, MATH AND HOMEWORK.(FOR FURTHER PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS, SEE SCHEDULE O)THROUGH THE BRIDGES MIDDLE SCHOOL EDUCATION PROGRAM, 78 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN TARGETED TUTORING AND HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE, 38 CLASSES THAT WERE ALIGNED WITH STUDENTS' INTERESTS, IN-SCHOOL MATERIALS AND GREATEST AREAS OF ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENTAL NEEDS, FIELD TRIPS AND MORE. BY THE END OF THE YEAR, 88% OF MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS HAD IMPROVED THEIR LETTER GRADES IN MATH AND/OR LANGUAGE ARTS OR ARE MAINTAINING A B OR HIGHER. THE PAT HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM PROVIDED 155 STUDENTS WITH INTENSIVE ACADEMIC RESOURCES THAT INCLUDED TARGETED HOMEWORK SUPPORT, INDIVIDUAL AND SMALL GROUP TUTORING AS WELL AS LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES, COLLEGE PREPARATION WORKSHOPS, CAMPUS VISITS AND FIELD TRIPS, AS WELL AS 30 ACADEMIC AND ENRICHMENT CLASSES. OF THOSE STUDENTS COMPLETING HOLA'S COLLEGE APPLICATION WORKSHOPS IN SPRING 2019, 100% GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL IN JUNE AND 98% HAVE ENROLLED IN POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS THIS FALL. THE COLLEGE SUCCESS TEAM SERVED 150 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS AND DOZENS OF NON-SCHOLARS THAT ARE ENGAGED IN HOLA'S DYNAMIC ALUMNI SERVICES THROUGH INDIVIDUAL CHECK-INS, ACADEMIC ADVISING, ON CAMPUS RESOURCES, ALUMNI EVENTS, CARE PACKAGES, CAMPUS VISITS AND MORE.
