RTLB was founded in 1992 with the following mission: 'Together we transform the lives of low-income homeowners by improving the safety and health of their homes and revitalizing our communities.' To do this, RTLB develops partnerships within the community to rebuild owner-occupied homes and non-profit facilities for low-income residents, particularly the elderly or those with disabilities, so they may live independently with dignity, in warmth and safety at no cost to the recipient(s). Our parent organization, Rebuilding Together, is the nation's leading nonprofit organization working to preserve affordable home ownership and revitalize communities. RTLB is part of the Rebuilding Together network of approximately 150 affiliates that provide free rehabilitation and critical repairs to the homes of low-income, elderly and disabled Americans.
