Tony Fitzjohn/George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust 2019 Major Accomplishments1.Our main focus over the past year is to fully secure the entire MRS fence. This continued to be a main focus and a partial replacement of aging perimeter fence was replaced;2. Construction of additional water recapture structures. 3.During the last year, the Environmental Education Program Rafiki wa Faru has continued to run well, with a focused and carefully constructed educational program to help raise awareness and understanding of the overall conservation of Mkomazi National Park and the conservation of endangered species, primarily the black rhino and also the African wild dog. Additional community outreach extends the amount of local visitors to the Rhino sanctuary for lessons in Eco Conservation awareness. 4.The vocational training center has been extended to encompass neighboring villages. Additional classrooms were built;5. The release of the African Hunting Dog, which were bred at Mkomazi. 6.We have developed a long-term (five-year) plan for Mkomazi and Kora incorporating the work of the trusts in the UK, USA, Kenya and Tanzania. He also produced a document that could be read in conjunction with these pictorial plans. This document gives extended background on the trusts activities and future vision. A new document, focusing on Kora and the work of the Trust in Kora over the past 25 years has also been produced.
