Law, history & government. CRF's law, history, and government programs and materials focus on historical and contemporary issues, institutions, people, and processes that shape our laws and government. Each year CRF's law & government department conducts the California State Mock Trial Competition. In 2019, CRF's mock trial competition directly involved over 8,000 California students and 3,000 legal and teacher volunteers. Among its offerings, CRF delivers web-assisted program to educate about the scope and limits of law enforcement and improve understanding between youth and the police, an educational intervention in collaboration with the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office for at-risk elementary school students, and a lawyer classroom curricular program for middle and high schools.
