Respite child care: the provision of protective childcare and emergency shelter to high risk children, birth to 17 years of age, who were facing emergency family situations that threaten the child's safety and well being. A total of 9,991 children received 37,968 days of service, amounting to 211,306 hours of direct care and supervision.
