OVERALL PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTSALL PROGRAMS - THIS PAST FISCAL YEAR (2018/2019), THE SACRAMENTO CHILDREN'S HOME (SCH) HAS CONTINUED TO LEAD THE WAY IN BEING A TIRELESS ADVOCATE FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. FROM HOUSING SOME OF THE HIGHEST NEEDS FOSTER YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY TO PROVIDING SUPPORT TO FAMILIES DURING TIMES OF CRISIS, SCH IS PROVIDING A WIDE RANGE OF PREVENTION, EARLY INTERVENTION AND MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT PROGRAMS TO THE MOST VULNERABLE AND AT-RISK CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN SACRAMENTO COUNTY. EVERY YEAR, THE SACRAMENTO CHILDREN'S HOME WORKS WITH THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN NEED, GIVING THEM A HOPE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW. WITH EIGHT PROGRAMS SPANNING SIX LOCATIONS, SCH SERVED APPROXIMATELY 6,900 CHILDREN AND 4,300 FAMILIES LAST YEAR WITH A WIDER CONTINUUM OF CARE THAN ANY OTHER CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICE AGENCY IN THE AREA. WHEN FAMILIES ARE IN CRISIS, WHEN PARENTS NEED GUIDANCE, OR WHEN CHILDREN ARE DESPERATE FOR A LOVING HOME, THE SACRAMENTO CHILDREN'S HOME IS THERE TO ANSWER THE CALL.STRTP PROGRAM (RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM) - THE SCH RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM OFFERS OUR MOST INTENSIVE LEVEL OF TRAUMA CARE FOR ABUSED, NEGLECTED, TRAUMATIZED AND EMOTIONALLY DISTURBED MALES AGE 6 THROUGH 20 YEARS. ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2018 OUR PROGRAM TRANSITIONED FROM A GROUP HOME LICENSE TO A SHORT-TERM RESIDENTIAL THERAPEUTIC PROGRAM (STRTP) AND IS LICENSED TO CARE FOR AS MANY AS 30 CHILDREN AND YOUTH AT ONE TIME. THE STRTP PROGRAM USES EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES AND CARE IS INDIVIDUALIZED TO GIVE CHILDREN THE SUPPORT, TREATMENT AND TOOLS THEY NEED TO ONCE AGAIN THRIVE IN A FAMILY ATMOSPHERE. IN FY 18-19, 93.3% OF RESIDENTS SURVEYED AGREED WITH THE STATEMENT, "SERVICES I RECEIVE ARE HELPING ME MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES."WRAPAROUND PROGRAM - THE SCH WRAPAROUND PROGRAM STRIVES TO HELP CHILDREN IN OUR RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM AND SIMILAR PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE SACRAMENTO AREA MAKE A SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION FROM GROUP CARE TO FAMILY-DRIVEN CARE. SERVICES ARE TAILORED TO EACH FAMILY, OFFERING SOLUTIONS AND CASE MANAGEMENT TO STRENGTHEN THE FAMILY TEAM AND ENSURE THAT CHILDREN ARE ABLE TO RETURN TO A SAFE, STABLE FAMILY HOME. IN FY 18-19, 60.7% OF THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH SERVED WERE DISCHARGED TO COMMUNITY HOMES WITH BIRTH, ADOPTIVE, KINSHIP, OR FOSTER FAMILY OR TO TRANSITIONAL AGE HOUSING FOR NON-MINORS.
