TOC Concert Hall is a nonprofit, all-ages venue in Portland, Oregon hosting hundreds of free and affordable music and cultural events for 65,000 visitors each year. Built in 1882, it is the oldest church building in downtown and is on the National Register of Historic Places. TOC's dual mission is to preserve and celebrate the building’s historic architecture and create music and arts programs that enhance the cultural life of the community. In 2016 the auditorium was upgraded into a world-class concert hall with state-of-the-art sound and lighting and since then we've produced and hosted hundreds of concerts with music from Brazil, the Middle East, India, Mali and Mexico; numerous music and literary festivals, storyteller series, arts symposia, and high profile artists.

PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THE OLD CHURCH CONCERT HALL IN DOWNTOWN PORTLAND ATTRACTS OVER 60,000 VISITORS ANNUALLY. WE ARE A NON-RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION WITH A DUAL MISSION: TO PRESERVE AND CELEBRATE THIS HISTORICAL AND VITAL ARCHITECUTUAL STRUCTURE WHICH WAS BUILT IN 1882; AND MAKE THE MOST OF ITS UNIQUE ATTRIBUTES AS A PERFORMANCE SPACE BY CREATING AND FOSTERING PROGRAMS THAT ENHANCE THE ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL LIFE OF THE COMMUNITY. IN 2017 WE OFFERED OUR 49TH YEAR OF WEEKLY FREE LUNCHTIME CONCERTS, PARTICULARILY BENEFITING LOW-INCOME MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY, SENIORS, AND THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. OUR FREE MONTHLY "LITTLE EARS" CONCERTS FOR YOUNG CHILDREN CELEBRATED ITS FIFTH YEAR IN 2017. CULTURALLY DIVERSE PROGRAMMING OF ALL KINDS OF MUSIC FROM AROUND THE WORLD AND DISCOUNTED RENTAL RATES MAKE US AN INCUBATOR FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS AND A RESOURCE FOR TEACHERS AND LOCAL PERFORMING ARTS ORGANIZATIONS. IN 2016 WE REVIVED AND UPGRADED THE SOUND, LIGHTING AND OTHER ASPECTS OF OUR CONCERT HALL. WE PROTECT THIS HISTORIC TREASURE BY MAINTAINING ITS DISTINCTIVE ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES, SUCH AS THE POVEY BROTHERS STAINED GLASS AND THE ORIGINAL HOOK AND HASTINGS PIPE ORGAN, NOW THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND IN THE CITY.
