Mission

SJO is the producing organization for the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra, a 17 piece ensemble of the most prominent jazz musicians in the Seattle area. We also work to educate the next generation to appreciate and perform this uniquely American art form.

About

Subscription Concert Series: SRJO's 2018-2019 season included five shows at both the Nordstrom Recital Hall (528 seats) of Benaroya Hall in Seattle and the Kirkland Performance Center (399 seats). We expanded to three shows at the Edmonds Center for the Arts (704 seats) in our continuing effort to grow our audience. We brought two acclaimed guest artists to perform with us, NEA Jazz Master Maria Schneider and drummer Ignacio Berroa. The season consisted of the following shows: 1) "A Night at the Village Vanguard", Oct 6 & 7, 2018 2) "NEA Jazz Master Maria Schneider with SRJO", Nov 3 & 4, 2018 3) "I Got a Right to Sing the Blues", Feb 16, 17, & 18, 2019 4) "Cubana B Cubana Bop: SRJO with special guest Ignacio Berroa", April 13, 14, & 15, 2019 5) "Ray Charles: I Can't Stop Loving You", June 15, 16, & 17, 2019
