THE MISSION OF KITSAP SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER IS TO ALLEVIATE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE THE TRAUMA RESULTING FROM SEXUAL ABUSE AND OTHER VIOLENT CRIMES BY PROVIDING COUNSELING, SUPPORT, ADVOCACY, EDUCATION AND BY HELPING TO BRING ABOUT SOCIAL CHANGE.

KITSAP SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER PROVIDES THERAPY, ADVOCACY, AND INTERVENTION SERVICES TO VICTIMS/SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AND OTHER VIOLENT CRIMES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO MAINTAINS A 24-HOUR SUPPORT LINE. EDUCATION, AWARENESS, OUTREACH AND PREVENTION WORKSHOPS ARE PROVIDED TO COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS INCLUDING LAW ENFORCEMENT, SCHOOLS, SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS, AND INDIVIDUALS. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FROM 4 MAIN OFFICES IN PORT ORCHARD, BREMERTON AND BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, AND THE SPECIAL ASSAULT UNIT IN PORT ORCHARD. OTHER KITSAP COUNTY, WA SERVICE VENUES INCLUDE THE JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER, OLALLA TREATMENT CENTER, MISSION CREEK WOMEN'S CORRECTIONAL CENTER AND THE CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER.IN 2018, KSAC WAS ABLE TO RENEW ALL OF THE EXISTING CONTRACTS: *CORE SERVICES & PREVENTION *SPECIALIZED SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES *CRIME VICTIMS SERVICE CENTER *PREA (PRISON RAPE ELIMINATION ACT) *VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN STOP FORMULA GRANT *KITSAP COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES GRANT *KITSAP COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANTFOUR NEW GRANTS WERE ADDED TO OUR FUNDING RESOURCES: *SERVICES TO VICTIMS & SURVIVORS *TRAINING GRANT *COMPENSATION GRANT *CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY GRANT KSAC COMMITTED TO INTENSIFIED OUTREACH ACTIVITIES DURING 2018. ADVOCATES, VOLUNTEERS, STAFF AND BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN COMMUNITY EVENTS, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES, AND INFORMATION PRESENTATIONS TO SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS, COMMUNITY AGENCIES, AND SCHOOLS. REBRANDING THE AGENCY WITH A NEW LOGO AND WEBSITE ENHANCED OUR COMMUNITY PRESENCE. WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CLIENTS WE SERVE TO APPROXIMATELY 680 WHICH INCLUDES BOTH SEXUAL ASSAULT VICTIMS AND VICTIMS OF CRIME.
