Mission

To promote the appreciation and conservation of Washington's native plants and their habitats through study, education, and advocacy.

About

Native Plant Public Education and Publications: Washington Native Plant Society staff and volunteers provide a broad array of services to the public, its 12 chapters, and nearly 2,000 members statewide, who range from professional experts to enthusiastic novices. Popular programs include the annual Study Weekend, with record attendance this year in the Columbia River Gorge; and Botany Washington, organized in partnership with the University of Washington Herbarium at the Burke Museum and held this year on the Long Island peninsula. Again in partnership with the UW Herbarium, a new plant list database was introduced that provides public access to the Society's nearly 700 lists of native plants found on trails and other locations around the state.
