About this organization
Mission
Our mission is to help women overcoming crisis like abuse or underemployment who want to achieve permanent self-sustainability without the need for government assistance. Self-sustainability starts with building a stable income through a full-time career, tackling debt and building emergency savings. We know it’s not easy to do this on your own so that’s where The Gatehouse comes in. We give a hand up to women and children overcoming a crisis so they can achieve the dignity of earned success through a career-based income, financial stability and the skills to manage their emotional, spiritual and physical health.
About
The Gatehouse is a supportive living community where women and children in crisis are offered the opportunity of safe refuge, ample time, and the practical resources needed to allow them to discover new pathways for permanent positive change. This will lead to ending the pervasive cycles of poverty, abuse, under-education, under-employment and unemployment. Women and children who are suffering from a myriad of crisis situations are welcomed here to find their way to healing and self-supportiveness. The Gatehouse offers education in all life skills areas and practical resources needed to succeed (housing, childcare, reliable transportation, food, clothing, legal, medical, professional counseling, student enrichment program).
