Mission
To end homelessness, one family at a time!
About
The Families Forward Transitional Housing Program is a collaboration with United Way of Midland to provide transitional housing to families making the transition toward permanency. This program works with families that have participated in the Midland Interfaith Hospitality Network and are in need of continued rental subsidy, additional support, and case management services. The mission of Families Forward is to equip families to become self-sufficient and independent. We operate three duplexes with five units of three bedrooms/three baths and one unit with two bedrooms/two baths. Guest families pay a monthly program fee that assists in the costs of provided services. All utilities are paid by Family Promise of Midland. Also included is case management and free childcare for all families, enabling the adults to work full-time, go to school full-time, or a combination of both. Families may stay in the Families Forward program for up to two years. While in the program, families work diligently in reducing their debt, increasing their savings, and increasing their employability for long term gain. Families are required to save 20% of their earned income and attend monthly parent trainings.
