Education, training and empowerment: The neighborhood after school program provided homework assistance, reading and mathematics remediation, one-on one instruction, technology instruction, life skills/character workshops and science, technology engineering & mathematics (STEM) workshops. The organization also provided parent training sessions to increase parent involvement in school and enhance parenting skills. The neighborhood after school programs targeted students ranging from prek to middle school in public housing neighborhoods. Supplemental academic support was provided daily basis for 180 days to the target population. Activities included educational field trips to robotic explorers, Coca-Cola science center, Columbus govt engineering workshop, Georgia aquarium, Tuskegee university, George Washington Carver museum, Albany state university and robot kids club.
