VISION: TO DEVELOP CHILDRENS LOVE OF LEARNING, SO THEY BECOME LIFELONG LEARNERS AND CONSCIOUSNESS CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF SOCIETY. OUR CURRENT PROGRAMS HAVE IMPLEMENTED THE GLAD MODEL (GUIDED LANGUAGE ACQUISITION DESIGN) TO HELP OUR VISION BECOME A REALITY IN THE DAILY LIVES OF OUR STUDENTS. ACHIEVEMENTS: DURING THE 2017-18 ACADEMIC YEAR, SVA IS PROUD TO HAVE SPONSORED THE EDUCATION OF 3 LOCAL ORPHANS AND OVER 6 SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN. SVA WAS ABLE TO PARTNER WITH DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS, SUCH AS RAHIMA FOUNDATION, TO HELP IN THE SUPPORT OF THE ORPHANS AND SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED AT OUR SCHOOL. DURING THE 2017-2018 ACADEMIC YEAR, SVA CONTINUED TO OFFER SUPPORT, SCAFFOLDING, AND GUIDANCE TO ITS STRUGGLING STUDENTS. WE WORKED ALONG WITH SANTA CLARA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT TO TEST AND QUALIFY STUDENTS IN NEED OF AN IEP OR 504 PLAN. IN ADDITION, WE ARE SET UP GOOGLE SUITE FOR EDUCATION FOR OUR STUDENTS TO ACCESS CLASSROOM INFORMATION ONLINE AND TO KEEP PARENTS INFORMED OF THEIR CHILDS LEARNING. OUR PTA CONTINUED TO HELP SVA STAFF PLAN SCHOOL WIDE EVENTS. MOREOVER, WE WERE ABLE TO HIRE ADDITIONAL STAFF MEMBERS TO HELP WITH THE NEED OF OUR GROWING STUDENT POPULATION. OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDE OUR STUDENTS CONTINUING TO PERFORM HIGH ACADEMICALLY. FINALLY, SVA CONTINUES TO BE IN THE FOREFRONT OF EDUCATION BY CONTINUING TO TRAIN LOCAL PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOL TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS IN THE PROJECT GLAD TEACHING MODEL.GOAL: SVAS GOALS FOR THE 2018-2019 ACADEMIC YEAR ARE TO CONTINUE OUR SPONSORSHIP OF LOCAL ORPHANS AND SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS. ADDITIONALLY, WE ARE SEEKING TO ACQUIRE 60 NEW CHROMEBOOKS IN ORDER TO EXPAND OUR COMPUTER LITERACY PROGRAM. FURTHERMORE, WITH OUR GROWING STUDENT POPULATION, WE ARE LOOKING INTO HIRING NEW STAFF MEMBERS, AND INCREASING THE SALARIES OF OUR CURRENT STAFF. FINALLY, WE HAVE A GOAL TO RAISE FUNDS TO PURCHASE A NEW BUILDING FOR OUR SCHOOL.
