About

During the 2018 fiscal year the chorus continued its role as a cultural and artistic resource to the Tucson community. The chorus collaborated with True Concord Voices and Orchestra on four performances of Bach's St. Matthew's Passion in Phoenix, Tucson and Green Valley, Arizona. The chorus also continued partnerships with the University of Arizona, Patronato San Xavier, the Sons of Orpheus and the Tucson Girls Chorus. In addition, the chorus traveled to Texas and Oklahoma to perform John Rutter's Mass of the Children with a consortium of two university choral/orchestral departments. The chorus continued to increase accessibility to its services by expanding the membership of its young men's ensemble. While this group had traditionally been composed of only alumni members of the chorus, the program was expanded to include high school and college age vocalists from the Tucson community, resulting in a significant increase in chorus numbers.
