The Southwest Environmental Center works to protect and restore native wildlife and their habitats in the southwest through education advocacy and on the ground restoration projects.

Desert Waters Program: to protect and restore streams and wetlands of the southwest.1: spearheaded advocacy for restoring Rio Grande to ecological health; represented river advocates in multiple fora;2: continued to plan, design and construct habitat restoration projects to benefit native fish; 3: organized 16th annual Raft the Rio event, connecting people to the Rio Grande, with over 300 people participating on 90 rafts
