The Stated Mission Of The Housing Trust Is To Help Affordable And Ecologically Sound Housing For Low And Moderate Income Households Become A Reality In The City And County Of Santa Fe On A Long Term Basis And To Help Bring About Improved Economic Opportunities For Those Receiving Services. The Housing Trust Provides Education In The Form Of One-On-One Counseling And Groip Classes In The Areas Of Homebuyer Training, Home Maintenance, And Personal Finances, Including Foreclosure Avoidance. The Housing Trust Also Assist Homebuyers In The Review Of Their Closing Documents And Attends The Home Closing With Their Clients.

HOMEOWNER DEVELOPMENT SERVICES: FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2015 THE HOUSING TRUST PERFORMED INTAKE APPOINTMENTS WITH 394 NEW HOUSEHOLDS OF WHOM 77 COMPLETED AN 8 HOUR HOME PURCHASE TRAINING CLASS AND RECEIVED ONE ON ONE COUNSELING . IN THAT SAME PERIOD WE DIRECTLY ASSISTED 26 FAMILIES WITH PURCHASING NEW HOMES. WE PROVIDED HOME EQUITY CONVERSION MORTGAGE COUNSELING TO 147 HOUSEHOLDS. WE ASSISTED CLIENTS BY PROVIDING 1.6 MILLION IN DIRECT LOANS AND IN ACCESSING AND ADDITIONAL 749,020 IN CASH ASSISTANCE AND DISCOUNTS AS WELL AS 5.2 MILLION IN FIRST MORTGAGES. WE LAUNCHED A CDFI FUNDED, LOW INTEREST, AMORTIZING MORTGAGE PROGRAM EXPENDING 255,170 TO ENABLE CONSUMERS TO SPEND THEIR MORTGAGE BUDGET MORE EFFECTIVELY. THE INNOVATIVE HOPWA GRANT FOR SPECIAL PROJECTS OF NATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE PROJECT SERVED 76 HOUSEHOLDS WITH COUNSELING AND 967,708 OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. RENTAL: WE PROVIDED RENTAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE EXPANDED CONTINUUM OF CARE SHP PROGRAM AND PROCESSED 364 RENTAL SUBSIDY PAYMENTS OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR PROVIDING 232,002 OF SUBSIDY . IN 2015, 120 LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS ACCESSED BELOW MARKET RENTS AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AT OUR EXISTING RENTAL PROPERTIES WHICH PASSED ALL INSPECTIONS AND REVIEWS AT A 98% OCCUPANCY RATE. CONSTRUCTION: WE LAUNCHED CONSTRUCTION OF THE FIRST FOUR HOMES IN A 23 UNIT SUBDIVISION IN TIERRA CONTENTA AND FACILITATED MASSIVE PRIVATE ROADBUILDING INVESTMENT IN A HIGHWAY INTERCHANGE THAT WILL OPEN THE DOOR FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 300+ PLANNED RENTAL AND FOR SALE HOMES. WE FINALIZED PLANS IN READINESS TO BUILD 6 HOMES ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE CITY. WE ASSEMBLED A STRONG BID TO BUILD AN 87 UNIT RENTAL COMPLEX WITH MASSIVE PUBLIC SUPPORT AND 2 MILLION PLEDGED INVESTMENT VIA PULTE HOMES TO MEET CRITICAL AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOUSING DEFICITS IN SANTA FE BY COMPLETING A FULL 9% LIHTC APPLICATION. THE PROJECT IS POISED TO ESTABLISH A NEW STANDARD FOR HEALTHY CONSTRUCTION PILOT UNDER THE WELL BUILDING INSTITUTE. WE CONTINUED TO COMPLY WITH MONITORING AND AUDIT PROCESSES AND RESET POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TIMELY TO RESPOND TO CHANGES IN THE PROGRAM. AS A RESULT, WE WILL DIRECTLY ADMINISTER THE CONTINUUM OF CARE PROGRAM FUNDS PREVIOUSLY PASSED THROUGH A GOVERNMENTAL SPONSOR. AFTER EXPENDING SEVERAL HUNDRED MORE LABOR HOURS ON THESE MATTERS, TRAINING AND NEW PROVIDER ORIENTATIONS ALL WERE SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED PROVING OUR ONGOING EFFECTIVENESS AT MANAGEMENT CONTROLS.
