WE APPROACH THOSE BARRIERS WITH COMPLEMENTARY PROGRAMS THAT CREATE WELCOMING ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO ARE PREPARED TO PRESENT THEIR CREDENTIALS WITH CONFIDENCE AND PRIDE. FIRST, AS THE WORKPLACE DISABILITY ADVISOR, WE ASSIST CORPORATIONS SEEKING TO CREATE INCLUSIVE WORKPLACES BY PROVIDING TOOLS FOR RECRUITING, INTERVIEWING, AND ON-BOARDING CANDIDATES WITH DISABILITIES. SECONDLY, THROUGH THE STARKLOFF CAREER ACADEMY, WE OFFER ONE-OF-A-KIND CAREER CONSULTING SERVICES FOR JOB CANDIDATES WITH DISABILITIES SEEKING COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT. THE ACADEMY ALSO ENCOMPASSES OUR OLDEST PROGRAM, THE DISABILITY STUDIES INITIATIVE, WHICH EDUCATES STUDENTS AT MARYVILLE UNIVERSITY WHO CARRY OUR MESSAGE INTO THE COMMUNITY. IN ADDITION, STARKLOFF PRESENTS A BIENNIAL UNIVERSAL DESIGN SUMMIT SHOWCASING PRACTICES IN ARCHITECTURE AND COMMUNITY DESIGN THAT BENEFIT ALL. AND, FINALLY, COLLEEN STARKLOFF TALKS DISABILITY USES ONE OF OUR GREATEST RESOURCES TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON DISABILITY. THE STARKLOFF CAREER ACADEMY:THE ACADEMY PREPARES JOB SEEKERS WITH DISABILITIES FOR COMPETITION IN THE MARKETPLACE. INSTRUCTIONAL OPTIONS ARM CANDIDATES WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART JOB-SEARCH TOOLS AND GIVE THEM THE CONFIDENCE THEY NEED TO ADDRESS ISSUES SPECIFIC TO DISABILITY. THE OPTIONS THAT DEFINE THE ACADEMY INCLUDE: CAPSTONE COURSE: OUR TEN-WEEK COURSE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH COLLEGE DEGREES OR TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS HAS A RECORD FOR SUCCESS. SINCE 2012, 85 PERCENT OF THOSE WHO COMPLETED THE COURSE HAVE ADVANCED ON THEIR CAREER PATHS. THE PARTICIPATION OF MANY PARTNERS ALLOWS US TO OFFER ONE OF THE BEST JOB-PREPARATION CLASSES AVAILABLE ANYWHERE. HR PROFESSIONALS, FROM COMPANIES LIKE NESTLE PURINA, CENTENE, ENTERPRISE HOLDINGS, BOEING AND WELLS FARGO ADVISORS, TEACH STUDENTS ABOUT APPLICATIONS, RESUMES, AND INTERVIEWS. OUR PARTICIPANTS LEARN DIRECTLY FROM THE PEOPLE WHO HIRE. ASSESSMENT REVEALED SIGNIFICANT GAPS IN SERVICES FROM COLLEGES AND MAJOR IMPEDIMENTS TO SUCCESS ON SEVERAL FRONTS, INCLUDING PHYSICAL, ACADEMIC, AND SOCIAL BARRIERS. STARKLOFF IS GEARING UP TO APPLY OUR KNOWLEDGE AND OUR RESOURCES TO BRINGING DOWN THESE BARRIERS IN 2019.STARKLOFF DISABILITY WORKPLACE ADVISORS: STARKLOFF WORKS WITH CORPORATIONS TO DEVELOP INDIVIDUALIZED PLANS TO ACHIEVE SPECIFIC GOALS FOR DISABILITY INCLUSION AND MEET GOVERNMENT MANDATES.
