About this organization
Mission
Ballet Idaho's mission is to promote classical and contemporary ballet by encouraging artists to greatness and inspiring the public to value the performing arts. We enrich our community through quality performances, disciplined training, dance outreach, and education.
About
Produced three professional mainstage performances of ballet in Boise, Idaho including The Nurtracker, a winter program that included George Balanchine's Allegro Brillante, as well as other works by international choreographers, and in the spring, a fresh new staging of Cinderella. Through our outreach program, students from area schools and outlying rural schools were bussed to the mainstage venue for abbreviated performances of The Nutcracker and Cinderella. Under new artistic leadership, the organization also produced the contemporary series of new dance form and function with works by up and coming choreographers and continued the new dance inside view with company dancers/choreographers and artistic staff choreographers. As stewards and professional artists in the art form of ballet, our goal is to bring the community together to enrich lives and instill a lifelong appreciation of classic ballet and all of the arts as related in Western culture.
