The Ventura County Civic Alliance is a unique regional collaborative representing a balanced mix of Economic, Environmental, and Social Equity perspectives. Our mission is to work together to promote a healthy and sustainable future for Ventura County. The Alliance holds a set of core beliefs that guides its mission: regional stewardship, open dialogue, collaboration, evenhandedness, unbiased research and community building and decision making by consensus. In 2018, the Ventura County Civic Alliance (VCCA) served as the Business Intermediary for the Oxnard Union High School District (OUHSD). The VCCA provided services to connect the high school district with local employers to provide work-based learning experiences for the students of OUHSD.During the year, the VCCA planned, coordinated, and executed events to provide career awareness, exploration and preparation for the students. Some of those were STEM Day for Girls, internship boot camps, summer civics programs, arranging guest speakers for students, Summer at City Hall (SACH) and other work-based learning experiences.
