The Poudre Learning Center (PLC), a program of Weld County School District 6 and 3 other local school districts, is a premier provider of interdisciplinary learning focusing on the importance of history, science, economics, stewardship and aesthetics of the Cache La Poudre River and northeastern Colorado. The PLC Foundation raised funds to construct the Instem Station Building that was completed in spring 2018. The Instem Building is used by the PLC to support research activities, provide instructional programs to K-12 students, and present seminars and workshops. In June 2019, the Instem Building was transferred from the PLC Foundation to the District 6 as it instrumental to its programs and sets on land leased by District 6 from the City of Greeley.
