Big Sky Youth Empowerment provides opportunities for vulnerable teenagers from Gallatin County, Montana to experience success with the goal of becoming contributing members of the community through outdoor adventure and group mentorship.

In 2018, Big Sky Youth Empowerment worked with an average of 117 youth providing 42,120 hours of programming utilizing 123 mentors who provided almost 15,000 hours of service. Youth participated in 36 weeks of evening workshops and 30 weekend adventures. Workshop curriculum focused on a wide range of topics including trust, teamwork, communication, coping skills, goal setting, independent living skills, and environmental stewardship. Adventures included skiing and snowboarding in winter, rope courses, zip-lining, whitewater rafting and outdoor rock climbing in summer, and pottery, painting, indoor rock climbing, creative writing, and culinary arts in the fall.
