FORT COURAGE ENROLLMENT DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY IN JANUARY AND CONTINUED TO BE DOWN FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FISCAL YEAR. WE ARE PROUD TO CONTINUE TO BE A LEVEL 2 STARS FACILITY. THIS STAR STATUS PROVIDES HIGHER QUALITY CARE THROUGH EXTRA ANNUAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS AND GRANT MONEY FOR LEARNING TOOLS AND MATERIALS. OUR STAR STATUS ALSO PROVIDES OUR BEST BEGINNING SCHOLARSHIP FAMILIES WITH 5% MORE INCOME THAN WHAT OTHER FACILITIES CAN OFFER. WE CONTINUE TO OFFER AN AMAZING WHOLE FOOD MENU FOR CHILDREN EACH DAY, FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES OF THE CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM.INFANT SERVICES:CHILDCARE FOR INFANTS IS PROVIDED AT FORT COURAGE. THE CHILD TO TEACHER RATIO FOR INFANTS IS FOUR (4) TO ONE (1). CHILDREN SIX (6) WEEKS TO AROUND TWELVE (12) TO SIXTEEN (16) MONTHS (USUALLY WHEN THEY ARE UP AND WALKING) ARE PLACED IN OUR YOUNGER INFANT ROOM. ONCE THE CHILD IS WALKING THEY WILL BE TRANSITIONED INTO THE WADDLER ROOM. THIS CLASSROOM ALSO HAS A FOUR (4) TO ONE (1) RATIO. CHILDREN WILL STAY IN THIS CLASSROOM UNTIL TWENTY FOUR (24) TO THIRTY (30) MONTHS OF AGE. TWO AND THREES ROOM:CHILDCARE FOR CHILDREN TWENTY FOUR (24) MONTHS TO FOUR (4) YEARS OF AGE IS PROVIDED IN THIS CLASSROOM. THE CHILD TO TEACHER RATIO FOR THIS AGE IS EIGHT (8) TO ONE (1).PRESCHOOL ROOM:CHILDCARE FOR CHILDREN THREE (3) TO SIX (6) YEARS OF AGE IS PROVIDED IN THIS CLASSROOM. THE CHILD TO TEACHER RATIO FOR THIS AGE IS EIGHT (8) TO ONE (1). THIS ROOM PROVIDES A SEPARATE PRESCHOOL PROGRAM AS WELL AS AFTER SCHOOL CARE FOR MORNING KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN.
