LearnServe Abroad Program the 8-month Abroad Program prepares students for 2 week summer service learning trips to Zambia, Paraguay, Jamaica and South Africa with emphasis on social entrepreneurship, global competencies and leadership. Students continue their learning as they prepare public presentations to share with their communities and action plans to create change inspired by the people they met overseas. In the financial year ending June 30, 2019, 45 participants from 22 DC metropolitan area schools traveled Zambia, Paraguay, Jamaica and South Africa. 93% of participants received financial aid for their participation in the program, either from LearnServe or their school or both.
