PVPSAs mission is to improve the quality of life of the students and families of the Pajaro Valley by providing health education, counseling and prevention services, and by advocating for public policies that protect the health of our community.

About

We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our families though the delivery of our programs and services. We serve over 7,000 children annually with over 525 parent and caregivers receiving parental education and support. Our counseling programs include Kids Korner Elementary Counseling Program, Middle and High School counseling services, Tobacco Use Prevention and Education, Alcohol and drug prevention and treatment which are available throughout our schools in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District. 88% of children grades K-5 who participated in Kids Korner had positive emotional and academic gains. Our youth restorative justice programs seek to repair the harm by involving the entire community in rehabilitating offenders and holding them accountable for their behavior instead of concentrating on punishing or treating delinquent youth. 88% of youth referred to PVPSA as a result of committing their first nonviolent misdemeanor, successfully completed the Caminos Program or the Pathways to Success Program and did not reoffend six months post completion. Our youth prevention programs, with an emphasis on prevention, provide Drug, Tobacco and Gang prevention education to K-12th grade youth. 92% of children who successfully completed the Valor School Dropout & Gang Prevention Program avoided expulsion.
