About

Last year, the Network of Executive Women added to our logo seven words that capture the essence of NEW: Advancing all women. It's just good business. The NEW Mission Report 2019 lays out how we're delivering on our promise to provide value to our 120 corporate partners and change the lives of nearly 12,400 members at 925 companies in 22 regions in the United States and Canada. We're accelerating our efforts to provide solutions that will create positive change in retail, consumer goods, financial services and technology - change that levels the playing field for women and boosts the bottom line. - We're growing our menu of career-accelerating leadership development programs. - We're investing in research and actionable insights on women in the workplace. - We're focusing on a strong partnership with C-suite leaders. - We're forging strong alliances to make a bigger impact. - We're empowering women where they work and live. - And, every day, in conference rooms from coast to coast, through outreach efforts on every front, through traditional and digital media, we're using our voice as strong advocates for gender equality. From the talented, high-potential college student starting her career journey to the CEO who understands the transformative potency of gender-diverse leadership, NEW's growing community of nearly 12,400 members, 1,200 volunteer leaders and 120 corporate partners is creating real, sustainable change. Our community of passionate members, supporters and allies is making a difference in who does what work, the way we do that work and who we work for. NEW is led by a dedicated board of executives enriching us with their insights and perspectives. We thrive on the work and dedication of hundreds of regional volunteer leaders. We're supported by corporate partners and NEW Ambassadors who believe in the power of gender equality. Our impact is spread through our members, who tap into our resources, learn from each other and leverage their NEW connections. Our message is amplified by our allies and the media and spread virtually and virally through social media and our online #NEWwisdom video platform. To better address the leadership development needs of individuals and the companies they work for, we enhanced our menu of signature programs and regional programming to offer career development on-site and online for members at every level. The Network of Executive Women's $5 million Future Fund campaign, launched in 2016, is driving new research, learning programs and investments in technology, enabling NEW to present more value to members and partners. With generous donations from more than 100 individuals and 33 companies, we continue to work toward our goal of transforming the retail, consumer goods, financial services and technology sectors so that everyone can succeed. The commitment and contributions of NEW's 120 corporate partners enable NEW to offer the leadership development programs, insights and tools, and advocacy that drive gender equality in the workplace. Partner company leaders serve on our board of directors, speak at our conferences, encourage engagement and role model the change we need. More than 10,700 NEW members - 87 percent of our total membership - are corporate partner members. From the top down and bottom up, from the C-suite to the rank and file, these NEW members are committed to and actively involved in our movement for gender equality. At the same time, we're forming alliances with other organizations of influence that share our vision and complement our efforts, such as the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, the Executive Leadership Council and Hispanic Association for Corporate Responsibility.NEW membership increased by 16 percent in 2018 as companies and individuals realized and shared the benefits of NEW membership. NEW members of every type at 925 companies in the U.S. and Canada are finding value in online and in-person leadership development programs, local learning and networking events, and opportunities to grow their skills and personal brands. These women and men are starting courageous conversations; leaning on, inspiring and learning from each other; advancing their own careers and pulling others up; and transforming their teams and their organizations. The many benefits of gender equality and women's leadership is a message NEW carries with urgency and pride. Through spoken and written words, from hour-long speeches in front of hundreds to small group meetings with partners to 100-character tweets, in print and on film, NEW's voice continues to grow.We speak to the issues that confront women at work, offer steps to blast away barriers that hold women back and address work/life concerns that affect women and men. Last year our message was heard by more people than ever before as we shared insights from our bloggers; tackled issues of gender inequality in guest columns bylined by NEW CEO Sarah Alter; published 60,000 issues of the standalone NEW Leader magazine; participated in USA Today's Women in Business publication; and, last fall, launched our #NEWwisdom campaign, featuring short videos of NEW members sharing the personal and professional experiences that changed the trajectories o "There are two key moments in my career that I look back on when f their careers.
