GRANTS AND ALLOCATIONS - THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF LONGVIEW (JLL) PROVIDED GRANTS TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS AND 38 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS DURING THE YEAR ENDED MAY 31, 2019. ALSO, JLL ALLOCATED APPROXIMATELY $53,000 TO IN-HOUSE PROGRAMS THAT IMPROVE THE COMMUNITY; THE IN-HOUSE PROGRAMS CONSIST OF SCHOOL SUPPLY CHAIN, READ AS ONE, KIDS IN THE KITCHEN, HELPING HANDS, MOTIVATE TO MOVE, AND DONE IN A DAY. READ AS ONE PROMOTES LITERACY WITHIN OUR LONGVIEW COMMUNITY BY WORKING WITH CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, WOMEN, AND THE ELDERY.GIRL TALK IS A DEVELOPMENT PROJECT RUN BY THE JLL. GIRL TALK IS DESIGNED TO FILL A DEVELOPMENTAL GAP IN 4TH AND 5TH GRADE GIRLS. THIS PROGRAM ALLOWS LEAGUE MEMBERS TO SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT FEMALE DEVELOPMENT.SKILLS FOR SUCCESS IS A MENTORING PROGRAM AIMED TO HELP FEMALES FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL AGES TO ADULTHOOD EXPLORE DIFFERENT CAREER OPTIONS, FIND THEIR PASSION AND GIVE THEM THE TOOLS TO HELP THEM BE SUCCESSFUL.VOLUNTEER MATTERS IS AN ON-LINE TOOL OUR MEMBERS USE TO SIGN-UP AND VOLUNTEER AT THE ABOVE LISTED PROGRAMS.
