About this organization
Mission
The mission of Texas Casa is to support local Casa volunteer advocacy programs and to advocate for effective public policy for children in the child protection system.
About
Austin-based Texas Casa (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is the statewide association of 72 local Casa programs that recruit and train volunteers to advocate for children in the state's child protection system. These 72 local programs provide services in 219 of the state's 254 counties. In fiscal year 2019, Texas had 10,874 Casa volunteers and 30,432 children had a Casa advocate. Texas Casa supports local Casa programs by providing funding, training and technical assistance to program staff, board and volunteers to help ensure each program can operate effectively and seek out the quality volunteers to advocate for the best interest of the children assigned with the goal of finding their forever homes. By ensuring fiscal responsibility, maintaining trusted partnerships and keeping a strong focus on quality control and services, Texas Casa is able to assure a strong network of programs and meet another priority service for our members, advocating with child protection stakeholders to advance improvements in the child protection system.
