The purpose of the Association shall be to own, purchase or otherwise acquire, a collection of works of modern art of the highest quality and to promulgate and maintain a program of art activities and art education in the City of Fort Worth for public use and benefit, which program shall principally be the development and operation of a modern art museum in Fort Worth, Texas whose mission shall be: to provide leadership, education and enjoyment in modern and contemporary art, to preserve, display and interpret the art holdings of the Association, to display in appropriate settings the holdings of the Association and to create a welcoming environment for its public appreciation. The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth serves the general public.
