Mission

It is the exclusive mission of Musicalliance to positively affect the lives of youth regardless of their family circumstance by making instrument-based music education and band performance programs available to students who attend schools that have difficulty providing their own program. We build value for our students, families, schools, and communities by providing instrument-based music education to these students, enriching their appreciation of music and the joy of belonging to a school band. We do this because we believe in the research which shows that studying a musical instrument plays an essential role in the academic, creative, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.

About

Musicalliance teachers provided band instruction to 1,165 students in 29 schools. Several festival band concerts were held by forming a single larger band from several smaller school bands. This helped to enhance the performance experience for the students. The 'honors band program' are special programs offered to outstanding young local musicians. Over 300 students participated in this program. Each school band program provided at least two free public concerts during the year.
