IN 2018, THE KERRVILLE FOLK FESTIVAL FOUNDATION PRODUCED OR CO-PRODUCED THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: A KICK OFF CONCERT FOR THE TEXAS ARTS & CRAFT FAIR WITH THE HILL COUNTRY ARTS FOUNDATION, THE SYMPHONY OF THE HILLS, AND SCHREINER UNIVERSITY; ITS 6TH CONCERT SERIES WITH SCHREINER UNIVERSITY CALLED "MUSIC AT THE MANSION" WITH SCHREINER UNIVERSITY; MUSIC CAMP FOR TEENS WITH THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF CENTRAL TEXAS; AND ITS FLAGSHIP EVENT - THE 47TH KERRVILLE FOLK FESTIVAL (ESTABLISHED IN 1972). THE KERRVILLE FOLK FESTIVAL IS AN 18-DAY EVENT. DURING THOSE 18 DAYS, SONGWRITERS ARE BOOKED TO PERFORM CONCERTS EVERY EVENING. DURING THE DAYTIME OTHER EVENTS INCLUDE: THE 45TH NEW FOLK SONGWRITING COMPETITION, NOW CALLED GRASSY HILL NEW FOLK - IN WHICH 600 - 800 SONGWRITERS SUBMIT TWO ORIGINAL SONGS. OF THOSE, 32 WERE SELECTED TO COMPETE AT THE FESTIVAL. OF THOSE, 6 FINALISTS WERE SELECTED. FINALIST RECEIVES CASH PRIZES, GIFTS, AND RETURNED TO TEXAS TO PLAY A TOUR TOGETHER IN THE FALL. OTHER FESTIVAL PROGRAMS INCLUDE A UNIVERSITY STUDENTS' SONGWRITING COMPETITION, A FOUR DAY - SONGWRITER'S SCHOOL, 3 DAY WORKSHOP FOR HARMONICA AND UKULELE, GUITAR CLASSES, A YOUNG ARTISTS' PERFORMANCE INCUBATOR PROGRAM, MUSIC OUTREACH TO THE STATE HOSPITAL AND ELDER CARE FACILITIES, CONCERTS FOR CHILDREN, A VOLUNTEER STAFF CONCERT, AND SEMINARS SUCH AS MUSIC LAW, VOCAL PERFORMANCE, WORSHIP SERVICES, CANOE TRIPS, BIKE RIDES AND YOGA CLASSES.
