Ballet San Antonio (BSA) produced 3 major productions during its 2018-2019 season at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts; Beauty & The Beast, The Nutcracker, and Carmen. Beauty & The Beast (October 19-21, 2018), approximately 3,800 served. Created by Seattle-based choreographer Bruce Wells, Beauty & The Beast featured a world-premiere 1st Act choreographed specifically for BSA, and told the story of unlikely friendships, lively adventures, and the power of true love.The Nutcracker (November 23-Dec 2, 2018), approximately 15,000 served. BSA premiered all new choreography for The Nutcracker, created by local artists Easton and Haley Smith. Audiences were treated to discover this annual favorite presented with a fresh vision. The enduring classic realizes Tchaikovskys original vision - exquisite choreography, set and costumes set to live symphonic music. Carmen (February 15-17, 2019), approximately 2,500 served. Also a world-premier production, Carmen tells a story of seduction, jealousy, betrayal, and rage. Former BSA dancer, Yosvanni Cortellan, choreographed his version of Carmen specifically for BSA.
