THE NUTCRACKER, A HOLIDAY CLASSIC, CONTINUES TO DELIGHT AUDIENCES AS A PERMIAN BASIN FAVORITE THAT FEATURES THE TALENTS OF OUR CIVIC COMPANY WHO ARE JOINED BY MIDLAND FESTIVAL BALLET'S SCHOOL STUDENTS, AND OTHER LOCAL DANCERS AT THE WAGNER-NOEL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. MFB'S PRODUCTION FEATURES OVER 120 DANCERS AND VOLUNTEER PERFORMERS AND REQUIRES BETWEEN 50-75 VOLUNTEERS FOR PRODUCTION SUPPORT. WE PARTNER WITH MIDLAND-ODESSA SYMPHONY AND CHORALE WHO THRILLS AUDIENCES WITH TCHAIKOVSKY'S ICONIC SCORE. JOINING OUR CAST ARE PROFESSIONAL GUEST ARTISTS FROM ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS HOUSTON BALLET, COLORADO BALLET, MILWAUKEE BALLET, AND DANCE THEATRE OF HARLEM. IN 2018, MFB HELD 2 PRODUCTIONS. THE FIRST NIGHT WAS CONSIDERED "SOLD OUT" AND AN AFTERNOON PERFORMANCE ALSO SOLD WELL. A TOTAL OF 2,981 TICKETS WERE SOLD INCLUDING 456 TICKETS PROVIDED FOR FREE TO LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS AND NON-PROFITS TO PROMOTE ACCESS TO THE ARTS FOR SOCIO-ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED PATRONS.MFB'S CIVIC COMPANY PRESENTED THE CLASSIC, GISELLE AT THE WAGNER-NOEL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. MFB'S CIVIC COMPANY WAS JOINED BY PROFESSIONAL GUEST ARTISTS FROM HOUSTON BALLET, COLORADO BALLET, BALLET SAN ANTONIO, AND BOULDER BALLET. MFB COLLABORATED WITH MIDLAND-ODESSA SYMPHONY AND CHORALE FOR LIVE ACCOMPANIMENT FOR THIS FULL-LENGTH PRODUCTION. THE PERFORMANCE SOLD 791 TICKETS INCLUDING 223 TICKETS GIVEN FOR FREE TO LOCAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS AND NON-PROFITS. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THIS PERFORMANCE, THE MFB CIVIC COMPANY UNDERTAKES A LARGE OUTREACH PERFORMANCE AT THE WAGNER-NOEL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER REACHING BETWEEN 1500-2000 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS.
