Year-round group home services for at-risk boys. Boys' Haven provides a stable, structured environment up to 36 boys, between the ages of 5 and 18. Many of the boys come from single parent homes, and many have been neglected, abused and abandoned. The boys are at high risk for suicide, addiction, and family violence.Individualized programs to build their self-esteem, such as 4-H, Boy Scouts, Little League and participation in local school activities, provides our boys with a feeling of family and belonging. Counseling was added to the program in 1998 and all residents currently receive individual counseling. All cottages participate in a group session every week and an anger management group was initiated in 2003. The vision of Boys' Haven is to support the development and improvement of character and rehabilitation of disadvantaged boys and young men.Our mission is to provide a safe haven, allowing our boys to live in a structured environment, learn how to problem solve, improve self-esteem, and learn to love and be loved.Boys' Haven feels a huge responsibility and a desire to more adequately prepare them for life beyond Boys' Haven. Driver's education, the purchase of a vehicle, proper training in applying for and interviewing for jobs, developing proper social skills, as well as learning to save and budget funds will help them properly plan for their future. This has now become a new, and very essential addition to our program. Boys' Haven is in the planning stages to building a new home for an Independent Living Program. The program will include household budgeting, cooking, establishing house rules and working together.Donated facilities for 2019 was $30,000.
