The YWCA Oklahoma City is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. We embody this mission by providing help and hope to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in central Oklahoma.

About

Certified by the Office of the Attorney General, YWCA Oklahoma City's Domestic Violence Crisis and Residential Services (CARS) program serves victims of domestic violence who are seeking a life free from abuse. These programs focus on providing emergency residential shelter and support for victims through a wide array of wrap-around, multi-culturally competent and trauma-informed services for adult and child victims. During this fiscal year, YWCA served 4,681 clients through crisis intervention, safety planning, case advocacy, educational and support groups, along with individual trauma counseling. Emergency shelter was given to 891 persons. Individual counseling was provided to 34 children and 218 adults. The Domestic Violence Victims Assistance Program helped 1,802 victims with victim protection orders and court advocacy. Our Sisters' Closet, a retail thrift store supporting victims, provided emergency clothing and household items to 555 adults and children.
