Mission
We exist to provide free groceries to individuals and families in our community who have been affected by a temporary crisis or emergency. We offer hope to the estimated 4,370 people in Dare County who are food insecure - 1,470 of whom are children. And, we offer our commitment - to every Dare County resident - that we will be prepared to do our part should our Outer Banks community ever be affected by a natural event.
About
The Beach Food Pantry distributes free groceries to Dare County residents who are experiencing a crisis or emergency. The pantry is open Monday thru Friday from 2-4 pm, excluding holidays. In 2019, the Beach Food Pantry will offer one evening client distribution per month (5:30-6:30pm). In 2018, the pantry served 3,415 individuals for our year-round program, providing 2 weeks of free food to each individual for a total of 143,430 meals. In addition, the pantry conducted a summer food for kids program. For ten weeks, during summer 2018, the pantry provided weekly meal bags (with 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and 7 snacks each) to 86 school-age children for a total of 12,040 meals.
