FWMA WILDLIFE REHABILTIATION AND EDUCATION ACCOMPLISHMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: FWMA PROVIDED CLEAN SAFE FACILITIES, FOOD, AND MEDICAL CARE FOR 1,273 ANIMALS IN 2019 INCLUDING 594 WILD MAMMALS, 556 NATIVE BIRDS, 43 NATIVE REPTILES, AND 80 EXOTICS AND DOMESTICS. AROUND 57% OF THE ANIMALS (722) WERE REHABILITATED AND RETURNED TO THE WILD. ANOTHER 5% (58) WERE ADOPTED, 11% (140) WERE TRANSFERRED TO OTHER EDUCATION FACILITIES, AND 5% (69) REMAINED IN CARE AT YEAR-END. FWMA ALSO PROVIDED A PERMANENT HOME TO 29 EDUCATIONAL ANIMALS THAT WERE NOT RELEASABLE. THE EDUCATIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE WILDLIFE WONDERS EDUCATION PROGRAM AT FWMA PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WHILE CARING FOR ANIMALS. ONSITE PARTICIPATION INCLUDED 6 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES EARNING 110 CREDIT HOURS, 13 AT-RISK INDIVIDUALS EARNING 187 COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS, 16 STUDENTS EARNING 684 CREDIT HOURS TOWARDS A SCHOLARSHIP, 26 COLLEGE STUDENT INTERNS EARNING 455 CREDIT HOURS, 4 ADULTS EARNING 95 HOURS TOWARDS PROBATION AND 4 ADULTS VOLUNTEERING 92 HOURS. PROJECT WORKDAYS INVOLVED 2 FSU COLLEGE GROUPS AND AN EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT. OUTREACH PROGRAMS INCLUDED 22 COMMUNITY EVENTS WE ATTENDED WITH EDUCATIONAL ANIMALS FROM THE CENTER.
