SUPPORTED THE OPERATIONS OF THE GREATER MIAMI OPERA, INC. AND THE OPERA GUILD, INC. IN THE PRODUCTION AND PRESENTATION OF OPERAS IN THEIR ORIGINAL LANGUAGES TO THE PUBLIC. OVER 33,000 PEOPLE BENEFITED FROM THE PRODUCTIONS HELD IN THE 2017/2018 SEASON.STUDIO ARTIST PROGRAM - FOUNDED IN 1984, FGO'S STUDIO ARTIST ("SA") PROGRAM HAS GAINED WORLDWIDE RECOGNITION AS ONE OF THE LEADING OPERATIC TRAINING PROGRAMS IN THE UNITED STATES. THE SA PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR ARTISTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED ADVANCED DEGREES FROM THE TOP MUSIC SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY, AND HAVE OFTEN PARTICIPATED IN OTHER YEARLONG RESIDENCY PROGRAMS. THE PROGRAM NOT ONLY EXISTS TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST CALIBER TRAINING FOR YOUNG OPERA SINGERS BUT ALSO SERVES AS AN INVALUABLE COMMUNITY LIAISON FOR FGO; PRESENTING A VAST NUMBER OF OUTREACH AND EDUCATION EVENTS THROUGHOUT SOUTH FLORIDA, BRINGING OPERA TO NEW AND DIVERSE AUDIENCES THROUGHOUT THE REGION.OUTREACH AND EDUCATION - FGO'S PRESENTS MORE THAN 150 PROGRAMS EACH YEAR BASED IN THE COMMUNITY. THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE WORKING WITH CHILDREN THAT ARE VICTIMS OF HUMAN AND SEX TRAFFICKING, FREE CONCERTS FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND INTENSE WORK WITH CHILDREN OF MIGRANT WORKERS IN FLORIDA CITY.
