The Hospitality Houses of Methodist Medical Center provide temporary lodging for patients and families who must travel long distances for treatment at Methodist Medical Center or Thompson Cancer Survival Center at MMC. The three homes offer a total of 12 fully-furnished apartments; shared kitchen, dining, laundry and family rooms; stocked pantries; transportation assistance as needed; and free parking. Supported entirely by charitable contributions, guests of the Hospitality Houses stay as long as they need, free of charge. Since the first house opened in 1997, thousands of guests have received lodging. In 2018, the houses served 269 guests and provided 2,240 nights of stay. The Hospitality Houses have welcomed patients/guests from 40 states and overseas guests from the Virgin Islands and England.
