IFC OFFERS DIRECT, TANGIBLE SUPPORT TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE UNABLE TO MEET BASIC NEEDS DUE TO POVERTY OR CRISIS, AND AS A RESULT MAY BE HOMELESS, FOOD INSECURE, AND/OR LACKING A NATURAL SUPPORT SYSTEM. IFC ALSO CONFRONTS THE CAUSES OF POVERTY AND PROMOTES LONG-TERM CHANGE THROUGH ADVOCACY, COMMUNITY BUILDING, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND PARTICIPATION IN THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS.IN FISCAL 2019, IFC PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING SERVICES (CONTINUED TO SCHEDULE O):ENDING HOMELESSNESS-EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE DISTRIBUTED $244,462 IN FUNDS TO 689 HOUSEHOLDS TO PREVENT HOMELESSNESS.-COMMUNITY HOUSE AND HOMESTART PROVIDED 32,945 NIGHTS OF SAFE SHELTER TO 247 LONGER-TERM RESIDENTS, INCLUDING 210 ADULTS AND 37 CHILDREN. AN ADDITIONAL 825 NIGHTS OF EMERGENCY SHELTER WERE PROVIDED TO GUESTS DURING COLD WEATHER.-PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROVIDED 18 RESIDENTS WITH RENTALSUBSIDIES AND WRAP-AROUND CASE MANAGEMENT.-CASE MANAGERS SUPPORTED 5 MASTER-LEASE RESIDENTS.INCREASING FOOD SECURITY-55,249 NUTRITIONALLY DENSE MEALS WERE SERVED THROUGH COMMUNITY KITCHEN, COMMUNITY HOUSE AND HOMESTART.-FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTED 13,239 BAGS OF PANTRY STAPLES, FRESH FOOD, AND PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS TO MEMBER HOUSEHOLDS.-FAMILIES RECEIVED 725 HOLIDAY DINNERS IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER.BUILDING COMMUNITY-SHELTER AND LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS MET MONTHLY TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT ADVOCACY STRATEGIES REGARDING: AFFORDABLE HOUSING, LIVING WAGE JOBS, AND ACCESSIBLE PUBLIC TRANSIT.
