About

TRIPLE P (Positive Parenting Program): The Triple P - Positive Parenting Program is a parenting and family support system designed to prevent, as well as treat, behavioral and emotional problems in children. The program was developed by Professor Matt Sanders and his colleagues from the Parenting and Family Support Centre in the School of Psychology at the University of Queensland and is based on over 25 years of research. It aims to prevent problems in the family, school and community before they arise and to create family environments that encourage children to realize their potential. Triple P draws on social learning, cognitive behavioral and developmental theory as well as research into risk factors associated with the development of social and behavioral problems in children. It aims to equip parents with the skills and confidence they need to be self-sufficient and to be able to manage family issues without ongoing support. The Center for Family Services has clinicians trained and accredited in several levels of Triple P and provides the program to parents and families in their home, community, and office setting. The Triple P Practitioners facilitate the program in English, Spanish and Creole. Triple P is offered through a grant from Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County to all parents who reside in Palm Beach County. In FY 2018-2019, the Triple P Program served 311 parents/caregivers in the community.Treatment Outcomes for clients completing Triple P in 2018-2019 indicate: 77% of clients enrolling in Primary Care successfully completed. 60% of clients enrolling in Level 4 Standard Triple P successfully completed.TEEN TRIPLE P (Positive Parenting Program):Teen Triple P provides parents and caregivers of teenagers from 12 to 17 years of age with parenting support interventions on a weekly one-on-one basis. After thorough family assessments, parents set their own parenting goals, learn ways to encourage positive behavior in their teens, and learn how to teach their children new skills such as problem solving, conflict resolution and self-regulation. Parents also learn ways to use appropriate consequences for misbehaviors (e.g., breaking family rules, taking inappropriate risks, and emotional outbursts, among others.) Parents who benefit from this program are those that have concerns about their teenager's development and behavior. They may be concerned that their relationship with their teen is not positive, or that their teen has not learned independence and self-regulation skills, or maybe that they have not found an effective way to discourage inappropriate or risk-taking behavior. Parents are most likely to benefit from Teen Triple P services if they are committed to complete 10 weekly sessions for about one hour each one. Center for Family Services of Palm Beach County, Inc. provides Teen Triple P to parents and caregivers living in Palm Beach County through the funding of Children's Services Council. Teen Triple P services are provided in English, Spanish and Creole in the office, clients' homes and community settings. In 2018-2019, the Teen Triple P Program served 114 parents/caregivers in the community.Treatment Outcomes for clients completing Teen Triple P in 2018-2019 indicate: 63% of clients enrolling in Level 4 Standard Teen Triple P successfully completed.
