DOH expense program-Aspire was awarded another year of a grant opportunity from the Florida Department of Health (DOH). This grant is funded with federal Title V funding and is awarded for sexual risk avoidance (SRA) education, including positive youth development messaging. This program includes classroom education for youth, parent/significant adult, mentoring, and community awareness services. Aspire exceeded the DOH service requirements, delivering service to over 1,000 students and over 200 parents. Aspire also exceeded the DOH requirement of 300 minutes, by offering students 640 minutes (8 weeks/11 hours) of programming. Aspire held over 10 mentoring groups and participated in over 10 community events, saturating our community with risk avoidance/primary prevention messaging.
