About
The Ashe County Sharing Center is leading the fight to eliminate hunger in our community by acquiring and distributing food to those who seek aid. Our vision is that no one should go hungry. We operated six pantries in 2018 aimed at reaching all the various sectors of the food-insecure population. The Sharing Center also operates four backpack programs aimed at providing food backpacks for children in the elementary and middle schools. In 2019, duplicated families reached were 20,733 and the duplicated individuals reach were 81,560. Families and individuals are counted each time they access a food box and/or a backpack.
