THE FOLLOWING IS AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE SCHOOL'S EXPENSES WERE LARGER THAN THEIR REVENUES IN THE PRIOR YEAR: WESTERN ACADEMY REACHES OUT TO THE DONOR COMMUNITY TO OBTAIN PRIVATE CONTRIBUTIONS AND DISTRIBUTES THESE FUNDS AS NEEDED OR REQUIRED TO SUPPORT OPERATIONS OR INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES. DURING FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 2016, A GRANT OF 204,300 WAS RECEIVED IN ADVANCE TO FUND SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE FISCAL YEARS ENDING 2017, 2018 AND 2019. THEREFORE, PART 1, LINE 19 OF THE PRIOR YEAR REFLECTS EXPENSES OVER REVENUE ASSOCIATED WITH DELIVERY OF INSTRUCTION FOR THE GRANT FOR WHICH THE REVENUE WAS PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED.
